Thirty Years of Original Sin Cider Celebrates with a Devilishly Good New Lineup

(New York, NY) Three decades ago, hard cider was such a mystery in New York City that bartenders needed a crash course before they’d even pour it. Fast forward to today, and Original Sin Cider — one of the true trailblazers of America’s modern cider movement — is marking its 30th anniversary the best way possible: with two brand new ciders built for opposite ends of the flavor spectrum.
Say hello to the “Devil” platform: Devil Light Cider and Devil Imperial Cider. One’s built for easy sipping, the other for serious cider lovers who want big, bold apple character. Together, they’re a clever nod to how far apart cider drinkers’ tastes have drifted — some chasing lighter, lower-calorie sessionable drinks, others craving richer, higher-ABV pours with more punch.
Devil Light Cider clocks in at a breezy 3.3% ABV and roughly 90 calories, made from freshly pressed apples with a splash of pasteurized apple cider vinegar for extra brightness and crisp structure. It’s a light, easy-drinking cider that still delivers real apple flavor without weighing you down.
On the flip side, Devil Imperial Cider brings the muscle at 8.2% ABV. Crafted from freshly pressed apples and finished with French bittersweet apple juice concentrate, it’s rich, layered, and packed with deep, fresh apple character — a cider built for slow sipping and serious flavor exploration.

Founder and President Gidon Coll looked back on the brand’s humble beginnings, recalling the days of pitching hard cider bar by bar across the Lower East Side, East Village, and Williamsburg — often having to explain what hard cider even was before making a single sale. He credits the incredible growth of America’s cider scene over the past 30 years to the tireless work of regional and national cider associations, whose advocacy has helped educate drinkers, support producers, and grow the category into what it is today.
Both new releases will begin rolling out in 12 oz cans across select markets, with a wider national launch expected later this year. Whether you’re team light-and-crisp or team bold-and-boozy, Original Sin’s 30th anniversary lineup proves there’s a cider devil for everyone.
