SEATTLE, WA – September 1, 2025 – Schilling Cider, a trailblazer in the craft cider industry, is excited to announce the reclamation of its proprietary recipes following a recent court ruling. For over a decade, Schilling has been a leader in the cider community, founding National Cider Month, advocating for progressive cider legislation, and operating two cider houses that showcase a wide variety of guest brands alongside its own.

Since 2015, Schilling partnered with Incline Cider to develop and produce its alcoholic beverages, crafting unique recipes exclusively at Schilling’s state-of-the-art facilities. Schilling went beyond standard production, investing in advanced equipment, skilled staff, and facility upgrades to support Incline’s growth while ensuring consistent product availability for consumers.

Under a mutual agreement, Schilling’s recipes were protected, with ownership reverting to Schilling if production moved elsewhere. In June 2025, Incline announced plans to shift production to a competitor, prompting Schilling to take legal action to safeguard its intellectual property. A recent court decision granted Schilling a Preliminary Injunction, affirming its exclusive rights to the recipes, prohibiting Incline from using or sharing them outside Schilling’s facilities.

“We poured our heart into this partnership and are disappointed by this outcome,” said Colin Schilling, Co-Founder and CEO of Schilling Cider. “These recipes are cherished by our community, and we’re thrilled to retain them. We’re committed to crafting exceptional ciders and can’t wait to reintroduce these beloved flavors under a new Schilling-owned brand.”

This winter, Schilling will launch a new cider line featuring the same high-quality, sustainable ingredients and familiar flavors fans adore. The company remains dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and industry leadership, continuing its mission to elevate craft cider nationwide.
