PortlandCiderbannercansCLACKAMAS, Oregon – Portland Cider Company will hold its third annual Fall Apple Pressing Party on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 11am to 7pm at its Clackamas Taproom & Cidery, located at 8925 SE Jannsen Rd, Bldg. F. The family friendly event is free to attend.

The event will offer activities for all ages, including a bouncy house, an old school apple mill and press, hard cider ice cream stuffed donuts provided by Ice Cream Feens PDX, a special food menu, and live music from 3pm to 7pm. Those over 21 can enjoy cider slushies: one made with Portland Cider Co.’s Pumpkin Spice Cider, and the other a rotating fruit version.

The actual apple pressing will take place from 11am to 3pm, when guests can help press the apples collected from the cidery’s annual PDX Apple Recycling program. Portland Cider Co. has been accepting donations of edible quality fallen and unwanted summer apples from the community since August.

The apples pressed will be made into a cider called “Oregon Wild,” which will be released in December. Portland Cider Co. annually donates 100 percent of the net proceeds from its community cider to Oregon Wild, a nonprofit conservation organization that works to protect and restore Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife and waters. Edible quality apples will continue to be accepted daily from 9am to 9pm until October 31, with drop off at the company’s Clackamas Taproom & Cidery.
