Craft cider will again get its own showcase at the fourth annual CiderFest NC on Oct. 15, which moves this year to the new Salvage Station venue, 468 Riverside Drive along the French Broad River. More than a dozen craft cider and mead makers have confirmed participation in the festival, and more may join in, said Cari Barcas, of the WNC Green Building Council which presents the event.

The festival has grown every year, and Barcas is thinking CiderFest will pull about 1,200 visitors this year. “Asheville is known as Beer City USA, but cider is riding this momentum and becoming more prominent.”

Participants coming to CiderFest are Noble Cider and Urban Orchard of Asheville, Bold Rock of Mills River, Alchemy Herbal Wine of Marshall with Addison Farms Vineyard, Appalachian Mountain Cidery of Boone, Angry Orchard, Bee & Bramble Fine Meads of  Fairview, Bull City Ciderworks of Durham, Fox Hill Meadery of Marshall, Naked Apple Hard Cider of Flat Rock, Original Sin Hard Cider of New York, Red Clay Ciderworks of Charlotte and Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards Hendersonville.  Complete Story
