Albemarle Ciderworks in Albemarle County is just one of 20 Virginia businesses that will split nearly $800,000 in grant money from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Albemarle Ciderworks was awarded $250,000 by the Virginia Rural Development Office to expand the business.

The Shelton family started Albemarle Ciderworks from humble beginnings almost 10 years ago.

“We were born, grew up on a farm – not this kind of farm, but a versified farm in Amherst County. [We] moved to Charlottesville in ’61 for my father’s career,” said Charlotte Shelton. Complete Story
